Introduction:

Deloitte, one of the world's leading professional services firms, faced a significant challenge in managing the complexity and volume of tax-related data. The tax team required an efficient solution to navigate, analyze, and utilize this data swiftly. To address this, we developed Genie, an AI-powered tax tool designed to streamline the workflow, enhance data accessibility, and improve overall productivity for the tax team.

Objectives:

  • Enhance Efficiency: Reduce the time spent on data retrieval and analysis.

  • Improve Accuracy: Minimize human errors in tax calculations and data interpretation.

  • Streamline Workflow: Create an intuitive interface that supports seamless navigation and task management.

Design Process:

1. User Research and Analysis

 

Interviews and Surveys: Conducted extensive interviews and surveys with Deloitte's tax team to understand their workflow, pain points, and requirements.

 

Persona Development: Created detailed personas to represent different user types within the tax team, including tax consultants, senior tax managers, and data analysts.

 

Journey Mapping: Developed journey maps to visualize the current workflow and identify areas for improvement.

 

2. Ideation and Conceptualization

 

Brainstorming Sessions: Collaborated with stakeholders to brainstorm features and functionalities that Genie should offer.

 

Wireframing: Created low-fidelity wireframes to outline the basic structure and layout of Genie.

 

Feedback Loop: Presented wireframes to users for feedback and iterated based on their inputs.

 

3. Design and Prototyping

 

High-Fidelity Mockups: Designed high-fidelity mockups using Figma, focusing on clean, intuitive interfaces.

 

Interactive Prototypes: Developed interactive prototypes with Figma to simulate real-world usage and gather further feedback.

 

Usability Testing: Conducted usability testing with a sample group of Deloitte's tax team to identify usability issues and refine the design.

 

4. Development and Implementation
